Pink Protest — Case Study
This series was inspired by my frustration with a brand that I loved (rhymes with Farget) pulling back its DEI commitments and scaling down Pride displays. As a queer photographer who once loved their bold, joyful campaigns, the retreat felt like a quiet erasure — so I turned that disappointment into a creative response.
I imagined a pink, maximal, unapologetically queer editorial campaign and used AI to prototype what that shoot could look like if I were directing it end-to-end. The result is a vibrant visual world built around color, protest, and joy.
A production like this in real life would require a full creative team, styling, custom sets, studio rental, and a significant budget — often $10,000–$35,000+ depending on scale. AI allowed me to explore the concept fully and quickly, without waiting for a brand brief or institutional permission.
Pink Protest is both a visual experiment and a reminder of how queer artists reclaim space when corporations step back.
