I have over 10 years of experience working with folks who are interested in expanding their photography skills.

My classes provide a structured learning experiences and lots of opportunities for hands-on practice under the guidance of experienced instructor, me!

Classes I’ve taught are:

  • iPhoneography 101 - in this class I aim to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to confidently capture, edit, and share high-quality photos using their iPhone. We spend time learning the basic features of your iPhone camera, including the Camera app interface, shooting modes, and settings. By the end of the class, participants will know how to control exposure and focus on the iPhone camera, including tapping to focus, exposure compensation, and locking focus and exposure. There’s a photo challenge in every class and an opportunity for folks to learn how to have more fun when taking photos with their phones.

  • iPhoneography 201 - in this class we focus on more advanced skills like Portraits Mode Mastery, master the Portrait mode feature on newer iPhone models, which simulates shallow depth of field to create professional-looking portraits with blurred backgrounds. Experiment with different lighting effects and portrait composition techniques to enhance your portraits further. We also spend time post processing our photos in 3rd Party apps like VSCO to experiment with creative editing techniques such as double exposure, selective colorization, textures, overlays, and filters to add artistic flair to your iPhone photos. Use editing apps to explore different styles and effects that reflect your unique vision as a photographer.

  • Photo Walks - Photo walks are a delightful mix of exploration, creativity, and community engagement, making them a fun and enriching experience for photographers of all levels. Photo walks take you on a journey through different neighborhoods, parks, or scenic locations, encouraging you to explore and discover new perspectives. Going on a photo walk stimulates your creativity and encourages you to see the world through a photographer's lens. You'll find yourself experimenting with composition, lighting, and angles to capture unique and compelling images. You'll find yourself more attuned to the sights, sounds, and textures of your environment as you stroll along, iPhone or camera in hand.
